During Science Week some 1st and 2nd yrs got to par
ticipate in a Plastic Pollution Workshop with Maria and Eduardo, researchers at TUS Athlone. Students were quizzed on their knowledge of recycling, origins of plastic, and biodegradable materials. They also got to learn about the research they are doing in Athlone into using microorganisms to break down plastic as well bacteria creating sustainable plastic alternatives.
