On Friday 13th February, members of Ms. Lalor’s 2B History class took a tour of the Old Fort of Portlaoise and visited the Local History Room in Portlaoise Library. There they listened to a talk by Sinéad Holland on how to approach History CBA1 The Past in Our Place and got ideas on possible topics as well as exploring first hand how to research local history. They examined plenty of primary sources and learned how to use the digital services that the library also provides.
