Today, those 5th years who want to change one of their option subjects, were given a Change Request Form which must be completed and signed by certainn relevant people in the school to make the subject change happen – for the right reason. The subject teacher, the Guidance Counsellor and the Year Head must speak with the student, and if it is possible, and there is room in the chosen class, the form will go home for his parent/guardian to sign their approval. Lastly, it will come to either myself, or Mr Mulligan/Mr Thompson for approval.
The inclusion of the Guidance Counsellor is a very important piece as dropping a subject may seem easy to a student, but may have implications to the course of study he thinks he may follow after 6th year. The GC will be able to help him make an informed decision about this.
No changes will e made after next Friday, September 18th. All forms should be back to the Principal’s office by Tuesday 4pm.
The availability of a space will limit many changes, as most classes are already full. But we will do our best to accommodate genuine requests. The current text book MUST be returned before any change to a timetable is made, or a new textbook provided.
