Last week was a busy one in the CBS for Healthy Lifestyles Week! Kicking if off were Portlaoise Panthers superstar players Eric Anderson and past student James Phelan who gave a very insightful talk to our 5th years about their own educational journeys, balancing extra-curricular activities with academia, and developing resilience along the way.
TY students took part in a Pilate’s class with Laois Sports Partnership. Many thanks to Sabrina for coming to the school last week to deliver the class.
All junior cycle PE classes competed against each other in the plank/wall-sit challenge. Winning classes 1E, 2C AND 3C. These classes will be getting an extra hour of PE as a reward!
All Home-economics classes learned how to use the YUKA nutrition app. YUKA is a mobile app. that scans barcodes and gives you information on how health the food product is.
All year groups had the opportunity to compete in the Hang Tough challenge during lunchbreak. The €20 prise winners were:
