In January, Joshua Corbett entered the BT Young Scientists and Technology Exhibition with his project entitled ‘Breaking Barriers: Revolutionising the Treatment of Brain Diseases’ and won first prize in his category. A few months later,  Joshua won the Maths in Science Award last week at Scifest@College in Thurles (Technological University of the Shannon, TUS).

Since that first win, our school has received several messages to both congratulate and to offer support to him in his future research from medical groups, Beaumont Hospital, and other similar bodies interested in the treatment of brain diseases. This topic has major implications for the treatment of so many neurological diseases in our society.

Once again, we congratulate Joshua and repeat how proud we are of his achievements. I suspect that we will be watching Joshua’s star rise in the world of medical research for some years to come.
