️Our Junior Debating team recently came up against @scoilchriostri_portlaoise as both sides battled it out with an ever relevant discussion of Zoos should be banned ️
With a keen interest in junior debating in both schools we decided to have 5 speakers on each team. The CBS speakers were Harry McGree(Captain), Andrew Coyne, Tom Delaney, Jack Heffernan and Jack Fennell. The CBS were deserved victors on the day as each team member spoke fantastically It was a tie for best speaker on our side as Harry McGree and Andrew Coyne commanded the stage
The debate was held in the GPA and was watched by many students from SCR and St. Mary’s CBS. It is never an easy task to speak in front of a crowd, especially at such a young age but both schools did so with ease. We are so proud of our boys and look forward to their input in Senior Debating next year
