Congratulations to the Portlaoise CBS Senior hurlers who won the Laois Secondary School Hurling Blitz on Wednesday 28th of September. The CBS beat Heywood CS who had home advantage in the final. Well done to Mr. Walsh and all involved.
There are a number of extracurricular activities in the school for people to get involved in. Amber Flag, which promotes positive mental health, is on at lunch time in Ms. Buckley’s room on Tuesdays. Green Schools is also on in Ms. Bowe’s room on Tuesdays.
The Cookery Club is on every two weeks on Thursdays after school. There have also been a number of events this year. The school mass which recently took place was a great success. The fifth years went on a biology trip to Castlecomer, and the sixth years went to see a production of Hamlet.
The Third years received their junior cert results. The Ag Science classes visited the National Ploughing Competition at the end of September. There’ll be another biology trip to the zoo in the coming days so it’s been quite the busy month.
