We have 3 different scholarship competitions.
- The ‘From Each Their Best’ Scholarship is sponsored by our Board of Management. The criteria is a combination of both sporting and academic with the coaches of their chosen sports contacted for feedback plus a written exam in both Maths and English. The 2 winners of this competition received the full iPad package from Wriggle. The winners were: Max Konat and Murewa Olamipejo, both from Holy Family Senior Primary School.
- The Panthers Basketball Club sponsor and process the applications for their own scholarship which was originally to be an iPad package for one student. However, they judged 2 player’s applications to be about equal so they changed the prize to €400 euros each. Those students are Sé Ramsbottom from Rathineska NS and Ronan O’Gorman from Holy Family Senior.
- Portlaoise rugby Club sponsor one student’s iPad package and process the applications themselves. Zach Smyth of Gaelscoil Phortlaoise is the winner of this.
We are delighted to have such talent starting in August and look forward to continued success on the playing fields and in the classrooms of these 5 recipients. Well done to the winners and well done also to those who sat our academic exams. The standard was quite high.
