The winners from our own SciFest@School went on to represent St. Mary’s CBS at the TUS Athlone Regional SciFest@College last week.
Five TY students presented their projects to numerous judges, defending their research and discussing their findings. Since our in-school SciFest competition in February these lads have been working on improving their projects and furthering their research.
It was a full house with over 180 projects from almost 30 different secondary schools across the Midlands. Stiff competition and excellent scientific investigation saw our groups narrowly miss out. We were sure we were in the running after one of our groups was visited 6 times by different judges so they came down to a finalist in one of the categories at least.
We’re so proud of them all! They all spoke confidently and full of enthusiasm about their projects. They were pure gentlemen and did their projects, their school and themselves proud! Congratulations gents!
