️Senior B Football League Round 1
St Mary’s CBS 3-10 Castleknock 4-11

St. Mary’s CBS got their league campaign underway on Tuesday afternoon as they travelled to Castleknock.

All 23 members of the match day panel saw adequate game time ahead of their championship opener in four weeks time.

In glorious conditions, it was the home side who got the scoring underway as they landed a brace of points within the opening three minutes.

However, Portlaoise CBS replied as Darragh Prendergast raised the first green flag of the game on the 4th minute.

The game was tit for tat with Paddy Fitzpatrick, Oran Darcy and Cathal Buggie all pointing before David Donohue hit the net to leave the CBS ahead on a score line of 2-4 to 1-5 at the interval.

CBS continued to dominate as Cathal Buggie pointed to kickstart the second half before substitute Ethan Neilon gathered a loose ball before slotting it to the net.

Portlaoise CBS were six points clear at the beginning of the second half, but a powerful surge from Castleknock seen the home side run out winners with four points to spare.
